2019-03-15: The Band Climate Change With Bruce Melton

Against the backdrop of SXSW — and dedicated to the worldwide struggle against global warming — Rag Radio presents The Band Climate Change in performance. Led by Bruce Melton, Rag Radio resident climate guru, other members of the band are George HadashPhilip Fulton, Ken Atwater, and Tom Williams.

Founded in 2002 the band started singing about climate change in 2008 after lead singer Melton returned from Greenland. Warming impacts were so profound, he was moved to write, and discovered he was an engineer/singer/songwriter.

All the members of the band have day jobs, so they only play out a few times a year. Their mission is the climate change message. It’s about delivering this message using the right side of the brain. Global warming psychology says traditional left brain learning hasn’t worked out so well with climate. The band’s music is used in filmwork produced by the Climate Change Now Initiative with the hope that someday, they can make a difference. The group’s films and music can be found on ClimateDiscovery.org.
